Steal A Tree Juice Upgrades

Cash in Steal A Tree comes from juicing fruit. It does not come from a rare tree that never enters the vat. The plot starts with a rusty juice vat. That machine is slow and small on purpose. Every upgrade you buy should make it swallow more fruit or finish a press faster. Cosmetics, Trails, and flex lighting wait until the vat is no longer the joke of the 6-player server.

The cash loop

Steal a sapling, plant it, wait for fruit, carry fruit to the vat, juice, spend. That is the entire economy. Official gallery fruit you will actually press early: banana, grape, apple, orange, strawberry, watermelon, and pineapple. Commons exist to fill the vat. Rares and mutations exist to raise the value of a press. Neither pays if the fruit stays on the branch or the tree stays in a flex slot.

A parked crystal tree is a screenshot. A juiced watermelon stack is a vat upgrade. The game rewards the second.

Upgrade order

Buy in this order unless a weekend patch rewrites the labels. The idea does not change.

1. Vat capacity. If fruit is sitting on the pad because the vat is full, you are burning harvest time. Capacity is the first rusty-vat purchase.
2. Juice speed. If the vat is chewing one banana while two more rot in your hands, buy speed. Speed also matters when you return from a steal and need the pad clear.
3. Plot slots that hold more trees, but only after the vat can drink what you already grow. Extra trees into a tiny vat is decoration.
4. Treadmill, up through Iron Treadmill. Speed gates later gnome gardens. Those gardens feed better fruit into the same vat. See Treadmill Speed.
5. Trails. Trails are a speed cosmetic and multiplier layer. They come after Iron Treadmill, not before. Rank them on the Trails tier list.
6. Pets that actually help juice, steals, or speed. Pets sit on the plot. They are not a substitute for capacity. Rank them after you can afford to keep juicing: how to get pets.

Never invert this because a trail looks louder. A loud trail on a rusty vat is still a rusty vat.

Common fruit volume versus a rare tree

New players steal one shiny tree, plant it, and wait. Waiting is not a strategy. Two or three common cubes, harvested on cooldown, will out-juice a single rare you are afraid to pick. When a rare or mutated tree is actually home, juice its fruit. Do not hold the harvest “so people can see it.” Mutations raise juice value. That value only exists inside the vat. Protection is for the window between ripe and pressed, not for a permanent museum. Details: Fruit Mutations.

Ultra-rare crystal and rainbow showcases are marketed around 1 in 1,000,000. If you land one, it still follows the same rule. Get it home only if your speed clears that garden. Press the fruit. Log the Index. Then go back to filling the vat with bananas so the next upgrade is not a fantasy.

What the rusty vat is telling you

If the vat is idle, you need more fruit, which means more commons or a faster steal loop — not a cosmetic. If the vat is backlogged, you need capacity or juice speed. If you are rich in fruit and poor in later gardens, you need treadmill Steps. If you are fast and still broke, you are not juicing; you are collecting. Those four reads cover almost every bad spend.

Do not buy plot cosmetics that do not touch capacity, juice speed, or Steps. Do not buy a pet “for the vibe” while fruit despawns on the pad. Do not save juice money for a trail because a thumbnail said Trails are the real game. Trails multiply speed you already trained.

Index while you juice

Every new fruit and mutation should hit the Index. Discovery rewards are cash or Steps you did not have to steal. Claim them between presses. Skipping the Index is skipping a free upgrade. The Index is also how you confirm you actually own a fruit instead of remembering a flex you dropped.

Codes, when they exist, typically grant Steps or Speed, not vat tiers. As of 12 September 2026 there are no confirmed public codes. Check Codes anyway so you do not miss a real drop. Do not invent a juice code.

Spend examples that go wrong

• First coins on a trail. The vat is still rusty. You are now a fast player with no printer.
• First coins on a pet. The pet sits on a plot that cannot juice what you already grow.
• Saving a rare harvest “for later” until the fruit is no longer the point.
• Planting a fifth tree into a vat that cannot finish the second.
• Ignoring capacity because juice speed looked cheaper, then watching fruit pile on the pad.
• Dumping a whole wallet into later-garden steals while the vat idles at home.

After the vat is respectable

Once capacity and juice speed keep the pad clear, move spend to the treadmill until Iron Treadmill, then Trails. A million-juice screenshot is a vat story, not a rare-flex story. If your plot looks expensive and the vat is still slow, you bought the wrong machines. Rebuild from capacity and juice speed, steal commons like a beginner, and let the rare trees pay rent in fruit instead of in poses. That is the upgrade path. Everything else is a distraction with a price tag.
