Pet Index Guide

The Index is Steal A Tree’s real catalog. It records trees, fruit, mutations, and pets you have actually obtained. Community image lists do not. If a grid of silhouettes never matches the menu on your plot, the grid is wrong. This page is about using the in-game Index: claim discovery rewards, track missing pets, and stop trusting random pictures.

Pets still need a job after you claim them. Pair this walkthrough with the pets hub, best pets by stage, and mutation notes. New rows often land with a weekend patch.

Open the Index on the plot

Join a server, stand on your garden, and open the Index from the live UI. Do not screenshot a loading lobby and call it a roster. Entries you own should show the name and the obtain or hatch text the game shipped. Entries you do not own stay incomplete. That incomplete state is the point: it is a checklist, not a shop ad.

Read the pet’s card before you hatch again. The card is where juice, speed, or steal-assist language appears if the pet has a job. If the card is only a pose, you are looking at flex or at a filler whose only gift is the discovery claim.

Claim discovery rewards

Every new pet you actually obtain can unlock a discovery claim. Claim it in the Index, not in a Discord screenshot. Unclaimed ticks are free progress you already earned. Players who hatch past a new entry without opening the Index are donating that reward to the void.

Discovery is not the same as power. A filler pet can pay a claim and still be the wrong long-term slot. Take the reward, then decide with best pets whether the creature stays parked. Juice Society can change claim rules in a patch; the menu in front of you beats this paragraph if they differ.

Track missing pets without a fake list

Work from holes in your Index, not from a numbered internet table. Missing pets are the empty cards. Sort by what you can obtain this session. A hole you cannot reach yet is a late goal, not a reason to idle the vat.

Write nothing down that the Index already shows. If you want a personal note, note the job you still lack — juice, speed, steal assist — and hunt a pet whose card matches that job. Names belong to the client. This wiki will not invent a full official pet list or a dollars-per-second chart.

When a weekend patch ships, reopen the Index before you browse social grids. New entries appear as new holes. Old image posts will omit them or mislabel them. The weekend patch log is the alert; the Index is the audit.

Why random image lists fail

They mix titles. They freeze a hatch pool that already changed. They assign income numbers nobody can defend. They copy mascots from other steal games. Steal A Tree pets are whatever Juice Society put in this client. If a list cannot be found as an Index card, it is not a Steal A Tree pet for ranking purposes.

Image lists also hide mutations. A pet you “have” in a normal form may still be missing a mutated Index row. Check the mutation side of the Index the same day you check pets. Details belong on mutations, but the habit is the same: claim, track, do not guess.

After you claim, play the loop

The Index is a ledger, not a replacement for stealing trees. Claim the pet, plant fruit, juice, and train. Use how to get pets only when you have a hole you can close without starving the vat. Role ranks stay on the pet tier list.

If you ever feel lost in names, close the browser grid. Open the Index. The missing card is the only list that pays.

Claim the discovery, mark the hole, and ignore any image grid that never opened the Index.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers Steal A Tree players ask after every weekend patch.

Where is the Steal A Tree pet Index?

In the live game UI on your plot. It tracks pets you have obtained, plus trees, fruit, and mutations. Screenshot blogs are not the Index.

What should I do when I unlock a new pet?

Open the Index and claim the discovery reward. Then decide if the pet’s job is juice, speed, steal assist, filler, or flex before you park it.

Why shouldn’t I trust random pet image lists?

They go stale after patches, mix in other games, and invent income figures. If the name is not on your Index card, it is not a usable rank.

Do weekend patches change the Index?

They can add entries. After a patch, walk the Index again. Start from the weekend patch notes, then verify in-game.

Does the Index also cover mutations?

Yes. Pets are one slice. Check mutation rows so you do not think a collection is finished. See the mutations guide.

Where do I go after the Index is open?

Stage picks on best pets, roles on the pet tier list, and the loop recap on the pets hub.
